Regulatory compliance as a career gig, was not on my childhood dream-job bingo card. I wanted to be an astronomer, musician, writer, marine biologist, landscape artist, and even a merchandise buyer for a AA baseball club.

But in 2008, when the CPSIA was signed into law, I found myself quickly becoming an expert as the purchasing manager for a game and puzzle manufacturer. At that time, I already had 9 years in the game industry in online retail and wholesale so the jump from inventory manager to compliance was seamless and interesting.

The industry has changed so much since then and more recently, I’ve found myself spending a lot of time helping smaller companies and start-ups with small product portfolios or one-off compliance projects. Not every company needs a full-time compliance employee and not every full-time compliance employee has the bandwidth to take on a new project.

So, I thought I’d throw my hat into the independent business ring and offer up my expertise in the toys, games and children’s product industry. Not just as a consultant, but as a contractor who will do the work and not just tell you what work needs to be done.

I hope you’ll check back here as I will be posting about industry news, events and information. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, my business and have an excuse to post a photo of my dog, Bailey.
